Summary

As an engineer and PhD, I have spent nearly twenty years working at the intersection of science, technology, industry and strategic challenges, primarily in the energy sector. My career combines scientific expertise, business development and the management of complex projects involving research, innovation, IT, engineering, and operational teams.

At NaTran R&I, I currently hold several cross-functional roles focused on expertise and technological transformation. I contribute to the development of artificial intelligence and the transformation of R&D&I activities, from strategic direction and use cases through to adoption by operational teams. I also lead the expert community and act as the technical expert for industrial asset management, helping to shape R&D priorities in line with the company’s strategy. These responsibilities build on previous experience in managing complex technological initiatives. Until 2024, I held R&D responsibilities for Jupiter 1000, an industrial Power-to-Gas demonstrator, and subsequently co-led NaTran’s AI Task Force until 2026. These roles have given me broad exposure to energy technologies, industrial assets and the transformation of the energy sector.

My work is grounded in strong scientific and technical expertise, particularly in safety and reliability, industrial asset management and, increasingly, artificial intelligence. My experience in AI combines specialised academic training at PSL with practical applications supporting R&D and operational activities. As a researcher and lecturer, I contribute to scientific publications and conferences, professional training, standardisation, and scientific and technical communities. I also place strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and the development of students and early-career researchers. Five years as an independent consultant also gave me first-hand experience of business development, client relationships and accountability for results, complementing my scientific background with a strong focus on the value generated by research, expertise and innovation.

My guiding principle is to understand technologies, shape a vision, bring diverse expertise together, and turn science and technology into drivers of transformation and value creation. I am particularly drawn to technologically demanding industrial environments where expertise, responsibility and wider societal purpose come together, especially in energy and defence, where I also serve as a specialist reserve officer.
